Boats / Caravans
Boats and caravans often travel between warm and cold climates and through various terrains. The moisture in the air condensates as it heats up and cools down and then falls on the equipment feeding any mould, bacteria and mildew that is present. Often boats and caravans are not active for long periods of time, and after a while, in ripe circumstances, mould, bacteria and mildew can exponentially increase.
- Mould and mildew can impact the enjoyment of a vessel due to unpleasant odours, damage of interiors, higher maintenance requirements and costs.
- Mould infestation can negatively affect the appearance of the vessel’s interior.
- Mould impacts wall panels, headliners, furnishings, woodwork, carpeting, A/C equipment and even parts of the vessel’s structure. These may need to be replaced if severely damaged by the mould growth.
NOTE:Mould and bacteria can grow and spread when the following elements are present:
- water/moisture
- dust/solid matter

Solution
For vessels with A/C systems
1. Place the PUREFOLIO Mould Eliminator gel in the A/C system, between the
coils and filter.
2. Run the A/C continuously for 12 to 24 hours.
3. Clean coils and filter as per normal A/C maintenance regime.
(Note: Cleaning the coils and filter after completing Steps 1. and 2. ensures that
the mould in the machine has been eliminated making the clean easier and safer)
For all vessels with or without A/C systems
4. Undertake a thorough clean of ALL surfaces using the PUREFOLIO Surface
Mould Remover.- Spot test on small area of every surface type first.
- Clean soft and hard surfaces within the bilge, head and cabin, including
woodwork, clears, laminates, soft upholstery, glass, bimini. - If visible mould is present, a more in-depth clean is required. Follow on pack
instructions. - Even if visible mould is not present, clean surfaces with Surface Mould Remover
- For upholstery, carpet and soft furnishings, lightly spray with Surface Mould
Remover and allow to air dry. If significant mould infestation is present, saturate
items with Surface Mould Remover and allow to completely air dry. Once dry,
vacuum items to remove powdery substance (dead mould) and finish off with a
light spray of Surface Mould Remover.
5. Place Fan Dispenser on a vertical surface within cabin or affix to wall with
strong double sided tape.
6. Place PUREFOLIO Air Purifier Gel in Fan Dispenser.
7. Set Fan Dispenser to “Day” and “Mode 2”.In addition to applying PUREFOLIO products as described above, the following steps are recommended to maintain a mould free environment:
1. Fix any leaks within the vessel.2. Maintain a clean, dust-free environment within the vessel. Remove foodstuffs, clean up dirt and spills.
3. Prevent damp conditions by ensuring that the vessel’s interior remains dry, especially during times when the vessel is moored for extended periods. Use moisture absorbers to remove excess humidity. For example, Pingi dehumidifiers dry damp spaces using silica gel to absorb surplus moisture.

Cars / Vans / Trucks
Vehicle cabins are small enclosed air spaces and can often be impacted by an excess of mould and bacteria. This can be exacerbated with the frequent use of the vehicle's air conditioning system. Over time, filters collect a considerable amount of dirt and dust and become breeding grounds for bacteria and mould. If unchecked, the filters become a health issue. The systems’ ducting will also accumulate a level of dust and debris and if not treated will become a growing medium for mould. This can be exacerbated if air conditioning is used frequently as the contaminants can breed at a higher rate when exposed to fluctuations in temperature within the cabin. Furthermore, air conditioners are not as easily cleaned due to access, which further causes an increase in the contamination.

Solution
When first applying PUREFOLIO products, place a tub of Air Purifier Gel or Mould Eliminator Gel in the car cabin. Ideally, for the first week, drive with the windows closed and turn the air conditioning system to a closed loop. After the first week the mould/mildew smell should be eliminated. Feel free to have windows open and air conditioning as per usual. For ongoing sanitisation of the vehicle use PUREFOLIO Air Purifier gel to maintain a sanitised air environment within the vehicle cabin.
The PUREFOLIO gel products will address:
- Smoke smells in the car
- Bacteria and mould inside the car's air space
- Musty and bad smells coming from the air conditioning
- Mould in the air conditioning filter and ducting.
- Smoke smells in the car

Buses / Train / Airplane
Confined spaces, such as airplanes, are small enclosed environments. The air is being circulated via air conditioning, meaning that any allergens, bacteria and other pathogens will also circulate throughout the cabin. Of course, the air conditioner filters will stop larger particles but the smaller ones will continue to circulate.

Solution
When travelling on airplanes, trains or buses, keep an open jar of PUREFOLIO Air Purifier Gel close by. Simply settle into your seat, open the jar and place on the drop down table or leave in your open bag near your person. At the end of the journey, place jar back into your bag and leave as usual.
While travelling, the Gel will act on the airborne germs, starting with those closest to the jar. The Gel's distinct fresh aroma may be picked up by other passengers. The aroma is not stronger than someone's perfume or cologne.
Note: Certain airlines prohibit gels in hand luggage. Please check the baggage restrictions before travelling.
